The Vice Provost for Resource Management and Institutional Effectiveness organization promotes continuous improvement by supporting informed decision making by the university's leadership in the allocation of financial, physical, and human resources and demonstrating to internal and external constituencies the accomplishment of the institution's mission, goals, and objectives for learning, research, and engagement. This mission is accomplished as members of the collaborative team in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and through effective working relationships across the entire campus community.
The provost office oversees development of the educational and general budget through an annual process that solicits and responds to prioritized request from each academic VP and college, and provides one time support for special initiatives throughout the fiscal year.
Academic space includes classrooms, teaching laboratories, research laboratories, library, and faculty and academic support offices. The provost promotes the effective use of space through the assignment/reassignment of existing space and the prioritization of new capital projects and renovations.
The Provost promotes the accomplishment of the university strategic plan and monitors progress against the goals of the plan through the tracking and reporting of high level metrics.
The university is moving to a performance based budget model over the next two years. Information on the transition can be found here (log-in required).
