The provost office oversees development of the educational and general budget through an annual process that solicits and responds to prioritized request from each academic VP and college, and provides one time support for special initiatives throughout the fiscal year.
Academic space includes classrooms, teaching laboratories, research laboratories, library, and faculty and academic support offices. The provost promotes the effective use of space through the assignment/reassignment of existing space and the prioritization of new capital projects and renovations.
The Provost promotes the accomplishment of the university strategic plan and monitors progress against the goals of the plan through the tracking and reporting of high level metrics.
Centers are a proven, effective means of organizing complex academic activities, particularly interdisciplinary research, instruction, and outreach.
