Deloitte Problem Day

Problem Day is a collaborative facilitated session to enable conversations on how Deloitte and Virginia Tech can work together in the AI and analytics universe and push forward on the University strategy. The aim here is to spark areas where active collaboration can continue between Virginia Tech and Deloitte––a fully engaged corporate partner with growing research interests and alignment.

Spring 2021

The fifth annual problem day focused on ethics in AI will examine ethical issues in current AI frameworks and explore potential future solutions for businesses and academic research.

Fall 2020

The fourth annual Problem Day session focused on health analytics and the importance of quickly responding to emerging health issues, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spring 2019

The third annual Problem Day focused on Blockchain and include deep dives into blockchain use and infrastructure, research at Virginia Tech, and applications to business.

Fall 2018

The second annual Problem Day focused on three case studies including Semi-Automated Identification, Classification, and Coding, Supporting Exploratory Text Analysis through Semantic & Syntactic Pattern Inspection, and Interactive AI.

Spring 2018

The inaugural Deloitte + VT Problem Day focused on better understanding how Virginia Tech leverage its industry partners, such as Deloitte, through its new Data & Decisions Destination Area to tackle some of the most challenging industry problems and enhance the VT student experience.
