State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) Compliance

VT SCHEV Compliance Team
The SCHEV Compliance team assists members of the university community in preparing documentation for the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). Virginia Tech’s SCHEV Compliance team submits program action proposals (e.g., new, modified, and discontinued degree and certificate programs) and organizational change (e.g., name change, restructuring) proposals on behalf of the university, ensuring they conform to SCHEV’s policies and guidelines.
Prior to SCHEV submission, program action and organizational change proposals require internal review at various levels, which may include the Board of Visitors. For information on the university’s academic governance process, visit the Office of the University Registrar’s academic governance page. Program action and organizational change proposals may also require review by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
